ALL BOYS PRACTICES ARE CANCELLED TONIGHT!!
The parks department has closed all fields tonight, Thursday, February 16th, due to weather. All boys practices are cancelled!
BOYS SPRING 2012 SEASON
Registration closed on Jan. 15th, 2012 with nearly 700 kids registered for the Spring.
- Age Group Evaluations:
- U9 – Monday Feb. 6th 5:00 -7:00pm – Sharon Springs Field 10
- U11 – Tuesday Feb. 7th – 5:30-7:30pm – Sharon Springs Field 10
- U13 – Thursday Feb. 9th – 6:00 – 8:00pm – Sharon Springs Field 10
- U15 - Friday Feb 10th – 5:30- 7:00pm - Sharon Springs Field 10
- FULL EQUIPMENT NEEDED FOR EVALUATIONS - (Helmet, Shoulder Pads, Arm pads, Gloves and Mouth Piece)
- Practices Begin the week of Feb. 13th – All teams will practice twice a week. Schedule will be distributed after Evaluations.
- Number of Teams per Age Group
- U9 – 6 (possibly 7)Teams
- U11 – 8 Teams
- U13 – 6 (possibly 7) Teams
- U15 – 3 Teams
- Scrimmages will be scheduled for the weekend of February 25th and games will begin the following Saturday March 3rd.
- The season will end with teams playing in the Roswell Tournament the weekend of May 12th.
Boys Teams Win Championships!
We would like to congratulate the SFLYLA Junior Select boys lacrosse team for winning the spring 2011 MAYLA Jr. Select Championship with an undefeated season.
GIRLS VS. BOYS LACROSSE GAME
U11 BOYS VS. GIRLS LACROSSE GAME AT FOWLER PARK!!
The 2nd annual boys vs. girls lacrosse game was played at Fowler Park on Monday, May 9th. It was an exciting game between the U11 Chris Miller boys and the combined U11 girls teams coached by Wren Caples/Jim Schuerlein and Laura Hill/Robert Klaus. As was done in last year’s game the boys and girls switched lacrosse sticks. It is always fun watching them adjust to this. In the end the boys pulled out a victory. Fun was had by all and it was a great way to end the spring 2011 season.
